Why is Water Leaking From My Air Conditioner?

If water is leaking from your air conditioner you could have a clogged ac drain line. Over time, mold and algae buildup can cause the air conditioner condensate drain line to clog. When drain lines become clogged, it cause the drip pan to overflow.

Oftentimes, this problem goes unnoticed until there is a bulge of water in the ceiling or walls. At that point, it not only becomes and issue of getting the air conditioner drain line system unclogged and cleaned, but it also has reached the point of water damage which can be extremely costly.

The MEDS unit helps prevent this potential problem because a timer automatically sends a cleaning solution through the air conditioner condensate drain line to keep the drain line clean and free of mold and algae buildup that causes the overflows.

You can also keep the drain line unit clean by flushing it regularly yourself with bleach. One way or another, you must be vigilant in keeping your a c drain line system clean, especially during the summer months when your air conditioner is being used more frequently. As we like to say here at MEDS, it is not a matter of if, but when your drain line will clog. With the humidity and increased usage, mold and algae will grow. Don’t let it get out of control and cause you costly home repairs. Nobody wants to spend money on repairs that easily could have been avoided. Your air conditioners are worth the extra care to save yourself from costly water damage problems to your home or business.

Enjoy your summer!
